S’more Cake Please

My oldest kiddo turned 8 years old today and she was a little indecisive about what she wanted to do for her birthday this year.  She just wanted to do everything!  She finally decided on a camp out themed birthday.  I was so excited when she said that because I have been wanting to do a camp out theme for the longest time!

Happy 8th Birthday Alexis!

I usually try to do cute party decorations but no one ever cares about them as much as I do so we skipped them this year. I want so badly to be a Pinterest-Perfect party mom but that takes a lot of work and “ain’t nobody got time for that”.

School just got out a week ago and we didn’t plan her party far enough in advance to invite anyone. Whoops. That is one of the down falls to having a Summer Birthday but we still managed to have fun with our little family. We move around with the military a lot so we have lots of parties that are just for our family anyway.

This is a triple chocolate cake (as requested by the birthday girl) with a marshmallow filling topped with all the s’mores fix-ins.

This had to be one of the easiest parties we have done so far.  We roasted hot dogs over a fire in the back yard and we were going to pitch a tent but we had some bad weather so we had to take a rain check.  Alexis and I made the cake together, which is one of our families traditions. That was it.  It was super easy and the birthday girl was happy.  Glad that she is so easy to please!
